Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor orthopedic patients using strong clinical judgment and compassionate care
• Perform dressing changes and suture/staple removal with precision and attention to wound healing
• Manage Foley catheters and NG tubes safely and according to unit protocols
• Provide wound vac maintenance and removal, ensuring device function and patient comfort
• Document care accurately in Cerner EMR and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary team
• Assist with patient mobility using lifts and assistive devices (Sara Lift, Maxi Move, etc.) to promote safe transfers
• Educate patients and families about post-op care, mobility, and recovery expectations
• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain patient ratios and deliver seamless handoffs on night shift

Qualifications

• Active NC RN license (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience (experience listed as 2)
• Orthopedics and Med-Surg experience preferred
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR preferred
• Comfort with wound care, dressing changes, wound vacs, Foley and NG tube management
• Team player who adapts to a fast-paced hospital environment and cares like family
