Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to oncology and trauma patients in a 28-bed PCU/MedSurg unit
• Administer chemotherapy and monitor patients closely for reactions and progress
• Titrate medications such as heparin, cardizem, and insulin as ordered
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including PT/OT, case managers, social workers, and dietitians
• Float to other PCU and MedSurg units within the facility as needed
• Document patient care accurately in EPIC and participate in hourly rounding to ensure excellent patient experience

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of PCU/MedSurg experience required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state - must be willing to obtain if not already
• Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC) required at time of submission
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA
• Valid driver's license required at submittal
• EPIC experience preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in EPIC electronic medical record system
• Experience with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, arterial lines, Swan-Ganz, EV-1000)
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Adaptability to diverse patient populations and cultural backgrounds
