Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, various start times (7a-7p, 7a-3p, 3p-7p, 7p-11p, 11p-7a, 7p-7a), every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $66 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate care to oncology and trauma patients in a mixed PCU/MedSurg unit
Monitor and manage hemodynamic status, including CVP, arterial lines, and Swan-Ganz catheters
Administer chemotherapy and other critical medications, ensuring patient safety
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including PT/OT, case managers, and social workers
Float to MedSurg and PCU units as needed, maintaining the same level of care
Engage in hourly rounding and patient experience initiatives to ensure quality care

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
Minimum 1 year of recent PCU/Oncology experience
BLS and ACLS certifications required
ONS/ONCC chemotherapy certification required
EPIC experience preferred but not required
Willingness to pass a pass/fail exam during orientation (open book, resources provided)

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in chemotherapy administration and oncology patient care
Skilled in ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, Aline, Swan, EV-1000)
Knowledgeable about common drips like heparin, cardizem, and insulin
Ability to work in a fast-paced, diverse environment with a team-oriented attitude
Strong communication and patient advocacy skills
