Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to oncology and women’s surgical patients on the unit
• Assess and monitor patient condition, intervene as needed, and document care accurately in Cerner
• Administer medications and treatments safely and follow unit protocols for oncology patients
• Perform and assist with clinical procedures such as pelvic exams, echocardiography-related prep, and thoracentesis support as needed
• Collaborate with physicians, CNAs, HUCs and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate excellent care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge plans with clarity and empathy
• Contribute to a positive unit culture by being a reliable team player and mentor to colleagues

Qualifications

• Active RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience (as listed in the posting)
• Chemo certification preferred
• Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
• Comfort working overnight shifts and participating in weekend rotations

Education

• Active RN license required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong foundation in oncology nursing principles and perioperative/women’s surgical care
• Experience using Cerner for documentation and charting
• Ability to manage patient ratios commonly 1:4 or 1:5 while maintaining safety and quality
• Skills supporting procedures such as pelvic exams and thoracentesis
• Excellent communication, teamwork and patient-education abilities
