Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day/night shifts, 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM or 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM, every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide critical care to a diverse patient population including trauma, cardiac, overdose, sepsis, post-stent, stroke, and renal failure
Monitor and interpret telemetry strips, documenting rhythms and communicating changes
Titrate cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation as ordered
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including respiratory therapists and nurse aides
Float to PCU or MedSurg as needed, maintaining appropriate patient ratios
Participate in orientation and pass an open-book skills exam with 90% or higher

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or a compact state
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Driver's license required at submittal
Ability to pass a medication pass/fail exam during orientation
Compliance with artificial nail policy

Knowledge & Skills

ICU nursing and critical care expertise
Telemetry interpretation and ECG recognition
Titrating drips including cardiac, insulin, and sedation
Patient assessment and hemodynamic monitoring
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
