Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, varying start times (e.g., 9:00 AM-9:00 PM, 10:00 AM-10:00 PM, 11:00 AM-11:00 PM, 2:00 PM-2:00 AM), every other weekend required

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $76 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population
Assess, triage, and treat patients with conditions ranging from strokes and abdominal pain to ortho injuries and trauma
Collaborate with a dedicated team including physicians, midlevels, and support staff in a fast-paced Level III trauma ER
Monitor telemetry strips and manage ventilated patients as needed
Take charge nurse responsibilities with a small patient load when assigned

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
Minimum 3-5 years of recent Emergency Room experience
Level III trauma experience or higher strongly preferred
Proficiency with Cerner (First Net) EMR is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Ability to manage high patient volumes (100 visits per day) and pediatric patients
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Knowledge of cardiac monitoring and ventilator management
Comfortable with rapid decision-making in a dynamic environment
