Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency care to patients in a fast-paced Level I Trauma Center
• Triage and assess patients with diverse conditions including trauma, sepsis, chest pain, and strokes
• Administer medications, manage common drips, and monitor telemetry rhythms
• Collaborate with physicians, mid-levels, and charge nurses to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Float to OBS unit and freestanding ER as needed to support the team
• Participate in an open-book exam during orientation to reinforce skills and knowledge

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications
• Recent Level I or Level II trauma experience required
• Valid driver's license to verify residence outside 50-mile radius
• Ability to pass a pass/fail exam during orientation with a 90% score

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in emergency nursing and trauma care
• Strong critical thinking and rapid assessment skills
• Proficiency in interpreting telemetry strips independently
• Comfortable working in a high-stress, dynamic environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
