Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to patients with acute conditions, including trauma, burns, and medical emergencies
• Perform advanced skills such as Foley catheter insertion, central line dressing changes, and port-a-cath insertion while maintaining strict sterile field
• Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms using Phillips monitors
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, midlevels, and ancillary staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Float across four facilities within the system (St. Joseph's Main, Westgate, and two Free Standing ERs) as needed
• Participate in SIMs Lab to demonstrate competency in critical nursing skills
• Uphold hospital policies on appearance, including natural hair color, no facial piercings, and clean-shaven for fit test

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room experience
• At least 6 months of Trauma Level 1 experience
• Active and unrestricted RN license in Arizona (or compact license)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (ENPC not accepted in place of PALS)
• Preferred: TNCC and ATCN certifications
• Comfortable with Cerner EMR and telemetry monitoring
• Must own a reliable vehicle for travel between facilities
• Willingness to pass a DYS exam prior to acceptance

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in emergency and trauma nursing
• Proficiency in sterile field technique and central line/Foley care
• Strong telemetry strip reading skills
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Knowledge of hospital lift, restraint, and wound care protocols
