Shift Type: Day shifts, Full time, Days (specific start/end times not provided); travel approximately 30% (by jet, small aircraft, and ferry)
Hours per Week: 40
Bill Rate: $25,000 sign-on; $10,000 relocation

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality clinical education to long-term care staff across Sitka and Wrangell
- Partner with clinical leaders to create and standardize clinical competencies that meet policy and accreditation standards
- Design, select, and implement curriculum and training programs using adult learning principles
- Support and coordinate preceptorships, student clinical experiences, and onboarding for new staff
- Participate in evidence-based research to improve nursing practice, professional development, and patient outcomes
- Serve as a liaison for clinical education opportunities across the consortium and contribute to cross-team projects
- Evaluate educational activities and competency assessments to ensure effectiveness and compliance
- Promote organizational standards and ensure educational activities align with mission and goals
Qualifications
- BSN from an accredited school of nursing (required)
- Current, full, unrestricted RN license in Alaska or another U.S. state (required); direct hire must have applied for Alaska license before start date
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for providers required
- BLS Instructor certification preferred or must be obtained within 1 year of hire
- Clinical Competency Assessment (SEARHC) required within 3 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter
- Minimum 2 years clinical instructor/educator experience (one year may be replaced with supervisory experience)
- Minimum 5 years professional nursing experience, including at least 2 years in long-term care
- Supervisory experience preferred
Education
- BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) from an accredited school of nursing
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of professional nursing principles, LTC care, and geriatric patient needs
- Experience developing and evaluating evidence-based standards of care and training modalities
- Skilled in curriculum development, competency standardization, and adult education methods
- High quality oral and written communication skills
- Familiarity with education delivery tools including Microsoft Teams, Workday, Canva, Articulate, Smartsheet, SharePoint, and PowerPoint
- Ability to implement and evaluate educational programs, run skills fairs, and track competency compliance
- Policy and accreditation compliance awareness and attention to detail
- Ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
