Shift Type: Rotating schedule: either four 10-hour shifts per week or five 8-hour shifts per week; days and specific start/end times vary week to week based on department needs

Candidate Pay Rate: $43 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Gather all surgical supplies and instruments needed for each case to ensure smooth starts
- Maintain and monitor the sterile field throughout procedures to protect patient safety
- Prepare, pass and manage instruments for the surgical team with precision and attention
- Assume responsibility for keeping the operating room sterilized and organized
- Document case counts, instrument usage and supply needs accurately and promptly
- Collaborate with nurses, surgeons and sterile processing to maintain efficient case flow
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to deliver high-quality care
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required, with 2+ years of CST experience
- NCCT or NBSTSA certification accepted (will take NCCT or NBSTSA)
- BLS (AHA) required
- HSPA (IAHCSMM) required
- Sterile Processing experience preferred
- Travel experience preferred and helpful for a smooth transition to contract work
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong sterile technique and infection prevention practices
- Familiarity with operating room procedures and instrument sets
- Supply management and sterilization processes
- Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and work proactively
- Clear communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and case volumes
