Roles & Responsibilities

• Gather all surgical supplies and instruments needed for each case to ensure smooth starts
• Maintain and monitor the sterile field throughout procedures to protect patient safety
• Prepare, pass and manage instruments for the surgical team with precision and attention
• Assume responsibility for keeping the operating room sterilized and organized
• Document case counts, instrument usage and supply needs accurately and promptly
• Collaborate with nurses, surgeons and sterile processing to maintain efficient case flow
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to deliver high-quality care

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required, with 2+ years of CST experience
• NCCT or NBSTSA certification accepted (will take NCCT or NBSTSA)
• BLS (AHA) required
• HSPA (IAHCSMM) required
• Sterile Processing experience preferred
• Travel experience preferred and helpful for a smooth transition to contract work

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong sterile technique and infection prevention practices
• Familiarity with operating room procedures and instrument sets
• Supply management and sterilization processes
• Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and work proactively
• Clear communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment
• Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and case volumes
