Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered direct nursing care
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Monitor and document patient status, vital signs, and changes in condition
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate plans
- Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record
- Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect patients and staff
Qualifications
- Current, active LPN license in North Carolina (or active RN license if applying as RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtainable upon hire
- Comfortable working 12+ hour day shifts when scheduled
- Previous clinical experience preferred, especially in acute care or skilled nursing
- Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team
- Current immunizations and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program
- For Registered Nurse candidates, completion of an accredited ADN or BSN program
Knowledge & Skills
- Fundamental nursing assessment and patient monitoring skills
- Medication administration and documentation best practices
- Basic wound care and restorative nursing procedures
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and charting
- Infection prevention and patient safety awareness
- Time management and prioritization in a busy clinical setting
