Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and stabilize patients presenting with acute and life-threatening conditions in the ED
• Rapidly recognize and respond to dysrhythmias and cardiac events using ACLS protocols
• Provide pediatric emergency interventions guided by PALS when needed
• Deliver trauma-informed care aligned with TNCC principles
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record (Meditech Expanse preferred)
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the care team to coordinate patient flow and disposition
• Mentor and support colleagues; complete supervisory-related tasks when requested
• Maintain up-to-date certifications and ensure required credentials are uploaded at profile submission

Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts RN license (must be in hand at profile upload)
• Minimum 2 years of current Emergency Department nursing experience
• Basic Dysrhythmia course completion (strongly required)
• Active AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications and TNCC (all must be current and uploaded)
• Meditech Expanse experience strongly preferred
• Own reliable vehicle for assignment travel and commuting
• Agency partners: Massachusetts Temporary Nursing Service Agency License (Nursing Pool) required up front for submissions
• Provide work history, supervisory and ER skills checklists (current to 1 year) and two specific interview dates/times at profile upload
• Include permanent address at submission (facility will not consider travelers residing within 50 miles of the facility)

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing fundamentals and triage assessment
• Dysrhythmia recognition and cardiac response (ACLS competency)
• Pediatric emergency protocols (PALS)
• Trauma nursing principles (TNCC)
• Proficiency or familiarity with Meditech Expanse charting
• Strong situational awareness, critical thinking and teamwork
• Basic supervisory skills and the ability to support unit leadership when needed
