Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, safe nursing care to residents as a Licensed Practical Nurse
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document per policy
• Perform timely patient assessments and communicate changes to the care team
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and interdisciplinary staff to coordinate care
• Maintain clear, thorough documentation to support continuity and quality
• Support residents with activities of daily living while promoting dignity and independence
• Contribute to a positive workplace by mentoring peers and sharing best practices

Qualifications

• Active LPN license in Maine or eligibility for Maine licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications a plus
• Comfortable with night-shift clinical responsibilities and medication administration
• Ability to work independently on per diem assignments and adapt to changing needs
• Prior experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or comparable setting preferred

Education

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
• For candidates cross-trained as RNs: Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and vital sign monitoring skills
• Medication administration and documentation accuracy
• Familiarity with care planning and charting systems
• Good communication skills for interacting with residents, families, and staff
• Time management and prioritization during busy night shifts
• Infection control practices and safe patient handling
