Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 10-hour day shifts with variable start between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM (typical end between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM); includes call ~1 shift per week and every 4th weekend; day shift (no evenings or regular weekends)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $49 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare, assemble, and maintain sterile instrument sets and equipment for a busy OR slate of ortho, neuro, spine, CV, gyn, urology and ENT cases
- Scrub and assist the surgical team during procedures, ensuring impeccable sterile technique and patient safety
- Perform efficient room turnovers to support high daily case volumes (15-25 cases/day)
- Accurately document case activity in Cerner Surginet and support charge nurse workflows when required
- Anticipate surgeon and team needs during procedures to keep cases moving smoothly
- Follow hospital-specific OR processes and protocols to maintain compliance and quality
- Participate in call rotation and support emergent/critical patient transfers to ICU when needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience required
- Certified Surgical Technologist or completion of an accredited surgical tech program preferred
- Current BLS certification required
- COVID-19 vaccination required per facility policy
- Prior experience in ortho, spine, neuro, CV or robotic cases strongly preferred (CV/robotic only if experienced)
- Comfort scrubbing and working within strict OR processes and workflows
- Familiarity with Cerner Surginet EMR is highly preferred
- Ability to participate in a call rotation (approximately 1 shift/week and every 4th weekend)
Education
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent preferred
- High school diploma or GED required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong aseptic and sterile field technique
- Proficiency with surgical instrumentation and case setup for orthopedics, neuro/spine, and general surgery
- Experience with robotic and cardiovascular cases is a bonus
- Efficient room turnover and time management in a high-volume OR
- Charting and documentation experience in Cerner Surginet (preferred)
- Teamwork, clear communication, and the ability to follow detailed OR-specific processes
- Comfort working with anesthesiologists and managing critical patient transitions to ICU
