Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality oncology and med-surg nursing care for patients on a 24-bed unit
• Perform thorough assessments and monitor patients for treatment-related complications
• Administer medications and therapies safely, following unit protocols and standards
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, CNAs and the care team to coordinate patient care
• Document care accurately and timely in Cerner to ensure continuity and compliance
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge planning
• Assist with procedures as needed (occasional pelvic exams, echo support, thoracentesis assistance)
• Contribute to a positive unit culture by being a team player and mentoring colleagues

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required) in appropriate jurisdiction
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (as listed)
• Experience in oncology or med-surg settings highly preferred
• Chemo certification is a plus and will make your application stand out
• Comfortable using Cerner EMR for documentation and med administration

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong oncology nursing knowledge and med-surg competence
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic medical records
• Skill in IV/central line care and medication administration
• Ability to perform focused assessments and recognize changes in condition
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Good critical thinking and prioritization during busy overnight shifts
• Comfort assisting with occasional specialty procedures
