Shift Type: Night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; typically 3x12-hour nights per week with rotating weekends (2 weekends per 4-week schedule) - Night

Candidate Pay Rate: $51 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, compassionate bedside care for PCU/Med-Surg patients, prioritizing safety and comfort
- Monitor telemetry and cardiac status closely and escalate changes in condition promptly
- Perform IV management and starts with competence and confidence
- Manage drains, nasogastric and chest tubes, and deliver basic wound care with meticulous documentation
- Administer and manage IV/feeding/PCA pumps and ensure accurate medication administration
- Participate in bedside shift report and involve patients and families in the plan of care
- Document care accurately in Meditech and maintain clear communication across the care team
- Prioritize tasks and multitask effectively in a 20-bed unit with a typical 6:1 patient ratio
Qualifications
- Active RN license (required)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (PCU/Med-Surg/Telemetry experience preferred)
- BLS certification (required)
- ACLS certification (required)
- Comfortable with telemetry monitoring, IV starts, and common PCU procedures
- Ability to provide bedside shift report and connect with patients and families
Knowledge & Skills
- Med/Surg nursing and PCU best practices
- Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition
- Meditech documentation system proficiency
- IV pumps, feeding pumps, and PCA management
- Wound care, surgical drain care, nasogastric and chest tube care
- EKG/ECG interpretation basics and bladder scanner use
- Strong prioritization, multitasking, and communication skills (iMobile familiar)
- Comfort working in a 20-bed unit with a 6:1 typical patient ratio
