Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to residents in a long-term care setting
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document thoroughly
• Perform regular patient assessments and report changes promptly to the care team
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and physicians to implement individualized care plans
• Assist with activities of daily living while promoting independence and dignity
• Maintain accurate electronic and paper records in line with facility policies
• Support infection control practices and promote a safe environment for residents and staff

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license — required
• Active license to practice in New Mexico or ability to obtain state licensure prior to start
• Comfortable working overnight shifts and handling acuity common to long-term care
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain

Education

• Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program (diploma or certificate)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid medication administration and documentation skills
• Resident assessment and care planning fundamentals
• Familiarity with long-term care workflows and regulatory expectations
• Good clinical judgment, time management, and prioritization
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to use electronic health record systems and basic charting
