Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to residents in a long-term care setting
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and document thoroughly
- Perform regular patient assessments and report changes promptly to the care team
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and physicians to implement individualized care plans
- Assist with activities of daily living while promoting independence and dignity
- Maintain accurate electronic and paper records in line with facility policies
- Support infection control practices and promote a safe environment for residents and staff
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license — required
- Active license to practice in New Mexico or ability to obtain state licensure prior to start
- Comfortable working overnight shifts and handling acuity common to long-term care
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Education
- Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program (diploma or certificate)
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid medication administration and documentation skills
- Resident assessment and care planning fundamentals
- Familiarity with long-term care workflows and regulatory expectations
- Good clinical judgment, time management, and prioritization
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to use electronic health record systems and basic charting
