Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare patient charts and ensure smooth clinic flow for cardiology visits
- Perform intake tasks and basic clinical duties within MA scope to support providers
- Assist with telephone triage, refill requests, and inbasket management to keep patient care moving
- Complete authorization forms and administrative paperwork accurately and timely
- Float to nearby satellite clinics as needed (with advance notice) to meet facility needs
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and the care team
- Follow EPIC documentation standards to maintain chart integrity and continuity of care
Qualifications
- Certified MA preferred (MA-C); MA-R will be considered
- At least 6 months of MA clinical experience (first-timers accepted)
- Cardiology experience preferred; primary care experience will also be reviewed
- BLS certification required
- Reliable personal transportation required (public transportation is not sufficient)
- Willingness to float within scope with advance notice and travel to satellite clinics
- Open to temp-to-hire arrangement (non-local candidates should indicate willingness to relocate if conversion occurs)
- Must have at least a GED
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- MA certification preferred (MA-C preferred; MA-R acceptable)
Knowledge & Skills
- EPIC charting experience (required)
- Strong patient communication and telephone triage skills
- Familiarity with refill workflows, authorizations, and inbasket management
- Organizational skills to manage chart prep and clinic workflow
- Basic cardiology knowledge or eagerness to learn specialty workflows
- Ability to work collaboratively with nursing and provider teams
