Roles & Responsibilities

• Direct pharmacy operations for assigned sites, ensuring high-quality, compliant services
• Assist the director in developing and implementing policies, procedures, QA, and performance standards
• Lead operational planning, budgeting input, and continuous improvement efforts
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with medical staff and hospital teams
• Collaborate with information systems to optimize pharmacy information management and inventory control
• Participate on Pharmacy & Therapeutics, Safety, Information Systems, and Patient Medication Safety committees
• Perform human resources responsibilities including hiring, evaluations, development, and performance management
• Ensure pharmacy areas meet productivity, partner engagement, and patient outcome targets
• Step in to perform pharmacy manager duties as needed and handle other assigned leadership tasks

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
• Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY2 residency in health-system pharmacy administration or equivalent experience
• Active Illinois pharmacist license
• Minimum 5 years of supervisory/management experience in a health-system pharmacy setting
• Demonstrated experience with pharmacy information management systems and inventory control
• Strong leadership, HR, and performance management skills
• Experience participating in Pharmacy & Therapeutics and medication safety initiatives

Education

• PharmD (Doctor of Pharmacy)
• ASHP-accredited PGY2 residency in health-system pharmacy administration (or equivalent experience)

• Quality assurance and performance standards development
• Policy and procedure creation and implementation
• Budgeting and financial oversight for pharmacy operations
• Proficiency with pharmacy information management systems and charge systems
