Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive respiratory care for patients of all ages and acuity levels, from neonates to adults
- Manage and optimize mechanical ventilation for critically ill patients with confidence and precision
- Perform cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures and interpret results to inform care plans
- Assess patients continuously and adjust respiratory interventions as needed
- Provide neonatal and pediatric respiratory support, including resuscitation and advanced ventilator management
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement evidence-based respiratory plans
- Document assessments, interventions and outcomes clearly and timely in the medical record
- Serve as an educator and resource to patients, families and staff on respiratory therapies and equipment
Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) — required (CRT not considered)
- Valid Colorado Registered Respiratory Therapist license (DORA-RT) in good standing
- Current AHA certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP — all required
- Strong critical care and ventilator management experience
- Neonatal and pediatric respiratory care experience
- Proof of flu vaccine required
- Current resume and completed skill sheet for submission
Education
- Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program (as required for RRT credentialing)
Knowledge & Skills
- Mechanical ventilation and advanced ventilator management
- Critical care respiratory practices and patient assessment
- Neonatal and pediatric respiratory techniques and resuscitation
- Cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures and respiratory diagnostics
- Effective interdisciplinary communication and clinical documentation
- Ability to respond to rapid changes in patient condition and prioritize care
