Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise radiology technical staff, including Lead and Senior Technologists, ensuring excellence in patient care and imaging quality
- Implement and enforce departmental policies, procedures, and regulatory standards (Joint Commission, ACR, Title 17 & 22)
- Manage daily staffing to meet productivity targets and support operational goals
- Drive quality improvement initiatives and maintain high standards of image quality control
- Act as a clinical resource and educator — provide coaching, training, and support to staff, students, and families
- Collaborate with clerical, nursing, and service engineering teams to coordinate seamless imaging services
- Monitor departmental performance, report trends to leadership, and recommend resource allocation when needed
- Serve as a patient-centered liaison between patients, families, physicians, and the care team to resolve issues and improve satisfaction
Qualifications
- Current full Certificate of Radiologic Technology (CRT) issued by the CA Dept. of Health Services OR current ARRT license
- Current CPR certification
- Minimum 5 years working as a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist in an acute-care setting
- Minimum 2 years supervisory experience in an acute-care setting
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Desired: specialized certification (MRI, NMTBC or similar) and prior managerial/supervisory experience
Education
- Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of Joint Commission, ACR survey/compliance, Title 17 & 22
- Expertise in image quality control, radiation physics, radiobiology, and radiation protection
- Proficient in patient positioning, radiographic exposure principles, and quality assurance
- Ability to motivate, delegate, and develop staff while using progressive discipline when appropriate
- Experience with interdepartmental coordination and resource allocation
- Comfort with performance improvement processes and translating standards into policy and practice
