Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform a full range of diagnostic radiographic and CT imaging exams with care and precision
- Operate CT and X-ray equipment safely and efficiently, following radiation protection best practices
- Prepare exam rooms, equipment, supplies, and necessary medications for smooth patient flow
- Prepare and administer contrast media and perform intravenous contrast injections per protocol
- Ensure high-quality images through quality assurance and proper radiographic exposure techniques
- Adhere to ARRT standards of ethics and departmental policies while promoting patient safety
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and care teams to support positive outcomes
- Support service excellence at Enloe Medical Center and contribute to continuous improvement efforts
Qualifications
- Current full certificate of Radiologic Technology issued by the Department of Health Services, State of California (CRT) - required
- Approved CPR certification - required
- ARRT certification to be obtained within 6 months of hire (ARRT current is desired)
- Radiologic Technologist fluoroscopy permit for California to be obtained within 6 months (permit preferred current)
- Venipuncture/contrast media certification preferred
- Two years diagnostic x-ray experience desired; one year CT experience desired
- Demonstrated critical thinking, strong communication skills, and professional patient care
Education
- Current CRT (California Radiologic Technologist) certificate
- Approved CPR certification
- ARRT certification (to be obtained within 6 months if not current)
Knowledge & Skills
- Thorough knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and human structure and function
- Strong patient positioning and patient care skills
- Proficiency in radiation protection, radiation physics, and radiobiology principles
- Experience with quality assurance and radiographic exposure principles
- Skilled in specialized CT techniques and contrast media administration
- Good problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities
