Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare procedure rooms and equipment to ensure safe, efficient cardiovascular and EP care
• Review patient charts and labs prior to procedures and communicate concerns to the care team
• Provide thorough pre- and post-procedure assessments and monitor patients closely for changes
• Administer procedural sedation following hospital protocols and ensure patient safety throughout
• Circulate during diagnostic and interventional cases, assisting physicians and documenting in real time
• Accurately document procedures and handoffs in the electronic record and MacLab/CardioLab systems
• Operate specialty equipment (fluoroscopy, intra-cardiac ultrasound, 3D mapping systems) as appropriate
• Maintain and promote safety protocols for patients, staff, and the procedural environment
• Precept and mentor new staff to build team capability and maintain high standards of care
• Participate in continuing education and unit initiatives to enhance clinical expertise

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required
• Experience in Cath Lab; ICU, CVICU or IMC experience strongly preferred (new grads and med/surg-only nurses are not being considered at this time)
• Proven ability to independently circulate and document procedures in a cardiovascular/EP environment
• Familiarity with procedural sedation, fluoroscopy, and intra-procedural monitoring
• Comfort responding to an on-call pager and working varied shift lengths, including holidays and weekends

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred — if not obtained, BSN must be completed within 36 months of hire

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and focused cardiovascular monitoring
• Pre- and post-procedural care for complex cardiac and neuro-interventional patients
• Proficiency with procedural documentation systems (MacLab/CardioLab) in real time
• Experience circulating procedures and assisting physicians in cath, EP and interventional neurology cases
• Fluoroscopy safety and intra-cardiac ultrasound operation
• Familiarity with 3D mapping systems, device implants (pacemaker/ICD) and structural heart procedures (TAVR, LAAO)
• Strong communication, teamwork, and adherence to safety/time-out protocols
• Ability to mentor new staff and support ongoing unit education
