Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care including assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting)
• Monitor and record vital signs and patient status accurately and promptly
• Assist nursing staff with safe transfers and mobility support to reduce fall risk
• Maintain clear, professional documentation to ensure continuity of care
• Support infection control practices and follow facility protocols consistently
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team to promote positive outcomes
• Respond calmly and professionally during emergencies and escalating situations

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (California preferred)
• Valid state-required certification and active registry where applicable
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working overnight shifts and able to manage physical demands of patient care
• Reliable, punctual, and able to pass background check and required screenings
• Strong communication and teamwork mindset; prior CNA experience is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved CNA training program and current certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in basic patient care, hygiene assistance, and mobility support
• Proficient in taking and recording vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Knowledge of infection prevention and standard precautions
• Good documentation practices and attention to detail
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
