Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, direct patient care to residents with dignity and respect
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team promptly
- Support safe patient transfers and use proper body mechanics during lifts
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the patient chart
- Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies at all times
- Communicate clearly and empathetically with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff
Qualifications
- Valid CNA certification (required)
- Current basic life support (BLS/CPR) preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable working a 12-hour day shift and providing hands-on patient care
- Strong communication skills and a team-player attitude
- Up-to-date immunizations and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program and active certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in personal care, transfers, and assisting with ADLs
- Ability to take and document vital signs accurately
- Familiarity with basic charting and following care plans
- Good observation skills and ability to report patient changes
- Strong interpersonal skills and patient-centered approach
