Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Assist patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately and report changes promptly
- Maintain clear, timely documentation of care and observations
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to support patient goals
- Ensure a safe, clean environment and follow infection control protocols
- Support patient dignity and comfort through attentive, respectful care
Qualifications
- Current California CNA certification or state-equivalent credential
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Previous experience as a CNA preferred; new grads with training encouraged to apply
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and remain on your feet for the shift
- Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass required health screenings
- Reliable transportation and availability for the scheduled per-diem date(s)
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited CNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient-centered care and bedside manner
- Skilled with ADLs, transfers, and basic mobility assistance
- Comfortable taking and charting vital signs accurately
- Familiarity with infection prevention and safety standards
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- Time management and the ability to prioritize patient needs
