Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on personal care to patients, honoring dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Take and record vital signs accurately and communicate changes to the nursing team
• Support patient mobility and safe transfers with proper body mechanics
• Maintain clear, timely documentation of care delivered and observations
• Follow infection control protocols and contribute to a safe clinical environment
• Work collaboratively with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to deliver excellent patient care

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification in California (required)
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain quickly
• Comfortable working a 12-hour day shift and providing hands-on patient care
• Good communication skills and a caring bedside manner
• Reliable transportation and the ability to arrive for scheduled per-diem shifts
• Prior experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar settings preferred

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited CNA program and active state certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong basic nursing assistant skills: ADLs, transfers, feeding, toileting
• Vital signs measurement and accurate documentation
• Infection prevention and safe patient handling techniques
• Good communication and teamwork with nursing staff and other caregivers
• Ability to prioritize tasks and stay organized during a busy shift
• Empathy, patience, and an encouraging attitude toward patients and families
