Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living
- Monitor patient condition and report any changes to the nursing team promptly
- Assist with safe patient transfers, positioning, and mobility
- Support infection control practices and maintain a clean, safe environment
- Document care accurately and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary staff
- Help create a calm, respectful experience for patients and families
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (California) — required
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening per facility policy
- Comfortable working overnight shifts and managing time independently
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Valid government-issued ID and ability to pass background checks
Education
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — required
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in patient hygiene, bathing, dressing, and toileting assistance
- Proficient at taking and recording vital signs accurately
- Familiarity with charting and basic electronic health record (EHR) entries
- Good understanding of infection prevention and standard precautions
- Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and follow nursing care plans
- Compassionate bedside manner and de-escalation techniques
