Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients, using telemetry to detect changes quickly
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely, including use of Alaris IV pumps
• Document thorough, timely patient care in Epic to keep the care team informed
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and improve patient outcomes
• Provide compassionate patient and family education for post-surgical care and chronic condition management
• Maintain unit safety, adhere to fingernail and infection control policies, and model professional standards
• Float to designated units (6E, acute rehab, geriatric psych) as needed to support patient census

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible to work in Nebraska)
• BLS certification required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience preferred (telemetry/Med-Surg experience a strong plus)
• Valid driver’s license required at submittal (radius requirement applies)
• Ability to pass orientation skills exam (open-book) with 90% — resources provided to help you succeed
• Willingness to float and work every other weekend as part of the schedule
• Positive attitude, strong teamwork skills, and cultural sensitivity (Korean language useful but not required)

Education

• Current RN licensure (Nebraska)
• BLS certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Medical-surgical nursing fundamentals and post-operative care
• Epic electronic charting proficiency
• Alaris IV pump operation and IV medication administration
• Patient assessment, critical thinking and prioritization on 12-hour shifts
• Effective communication with patients, families and interdisciplinary teams
• Experience caring for adults; occasional pediatrics exposure (1-5/year)
