Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on a Medical/Surgical unit
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely while following facility protocols
• Monitor patient progress, recognize changes in condition, and escalate concerns
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the patient medical record
• Support patient and family education with compassion and clarity

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in New York
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred
• Previous Med/Surg nursing experience is preferred but motivated new grads may be considered
• Ability to work three 12-hour night shifts per week for the duration of the 13-week assignment
• Strong communication skills and a proven ability to work in a fast-paced team environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of medical/surgical nursing principles and patient assessment
• IV medication administration and infusion pump familiarity
• Proficient clinical documentation and electronic health record use
• Good critical thinking and prioritization skills during high-acuity situations
• Teamwork, patient advocacy, and compassionate bedside manner
