Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert CVICU nursing care for post-op cardiac and critically ill patients with professionalism and compassion
• Manage invasive monitoring and hemodynamics including Swan-Ganz catheters and arterial lines
• Operate and troubleshoot ventilators and provide ventilator management for complex patients
• Perform CRRT and manage mechanical circulatory support devices such as Impella when needed
• Manage central lines, arterial lines, and chest tubes with meticulous attention to infection control and safety
• Document care accurately and efficiently in Meditech to ensure continuity and quality of care
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute individualized patient care plans
• Coach and educate patients and families on procedures, recovery expectations, and post-discharge care

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• Minimum 2 years of critical care experience (adult ICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU or similar) — must-have per unit
• Hands-on ventilator experience and strong skills in arterial/central line and chest tube management
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring, Swan Ganz, CRRT, and familiarity with Impella is highly valued
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• BSN and CCRN are preferred qualifications

Education

• BSN preferred; active RN license required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of CVICU protocols and post-cardiac surgery care (CABG recovery)
• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation
• Swan-Ganz catheter care and interpretation
• CRRT operation and troubleshooting
• Impella device familiarity
• Advanced ventilator management
• Proficient in arterial/central line and chest tube care
• Comfortable using Meditech for documentation
