Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care in the Progressive Care Unit
• Monitor and manage patients with acute and complex cardiac and medical needs
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Perform timely assessments, administer medications, and document patient status accurately
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
• Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately
• Participate in unit quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Tennessee or Compact RN licensure
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience (PCU/step-down preferred)
• Current BLS required; ACLS strongly preferred
• Strong assessment skills, IV medication competency, and telemetry/monitoring experience
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and adapt to unit scheduling needs
• Professional communication skills and a team-first attitude

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Cardiac and respiratory assessment in progressive care patients
• Medication administration and IV therapy
• Prioritization, triage, and rapid clinical decision-making
• Electronic medical record (EMR) documentation
• Patient/family education and discharge planning
