Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical ventilation and make timely ventilator adjustments to optimize patient breathing
• Deliver nebulizer and oxygen therapies safely and effectively
• Perform patient assessments and document respiratory status and interventions accurately
• Respond rapidly to respiratory emergencies and support code situations with confidence
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
• Provide patient and family education on respiratory devices, therapies, and discharge instructions
• Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment, ensuring safety and readiness

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• Current state respiratory therapy license (able to obtain/hold required travel licensure)
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience (as listed)
• NRP and PALS preferred for pediatric assignments
• Up-to-date immunizations, background check, and any facility onboarding requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong ventilator management and weaning knowledge
• Expertise in nebulizer therapy and oxygen delivery systems
• Familiarity with ICU/NICU/PICU environments (preferred)
• Proficient clinical assessment and documentation skills
• Ability to collaborate across interdisciplinary teams and communicate clearly under pressure
• Comfort with EMR documentation and hospital respiratory equipment
