Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department and Med-Surg/Acute settings
• Triage, stabilize, and prioritize care for emergency and acute patients promptly and safely
• Deliver compassionate care to long-term care residents when coverage is required
• Administer medications and treatments accurately while monitoring patient responses
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress clearly and timely in the medical record
• Participate in rapid response/crisis situations with calm, decisive clinical action
• Maintain required certifications and stay current with ED and acute-care best practices

Qualifications

• Active Alaska RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required (no exceptions)
• Experience in Emergency Department (ED) nursing and Med-Surg/Acute care required
• Willingness to provide Long-Term Care coverage if needed
• Available to start ASAP / assignment begins 2026-03-27

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency triage and assessment skills in fast-paced ED settings
• Solid Med-Surg and acute-care clinical knowledge
• Comfort managing a broad acuity range, from urgent emergencies to complex med-surg patients
• Clear clinical documentation and communication skills with care teams
• Ability to respond effectively in rapid response or crisis situations
