Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor cardiac telemetry and promptly respond to alarms with clinical judgment
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document changes accurately
- Administer medications and IV therapies per policy and physician orders
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
- Provide patient and family education to support recovery and self-care
- Maintain accurate, timely electronic medical records and handoff communication
- Advocate for patient safety and participate in quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California or eligible for state licensure
- Clinical experience in telemetry nursing or progressive care settings
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS strongly preferred
- Strong patient assessment, critical thinking, and alarm-management skills
- Ability to work overnight shifts and adapt to per diem scheduling needs
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in cardiac rhythm recognition and telemetry monitoring
- Solid clinical assessment and triage skills for acute changes
- Effective communication with patients, families, and care teams
- Familiarity with electronic health record documentation best practices
- Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced inpatient setting
