Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care for adult and geriatric patients on a 35-bed PCU/Stepdown unit
• Perform continuous cardiac monitoring and respond to telemetry alerts promptly
• Administer medications and titrate drips (e.g., Cardizem, beta blockers, seizure meds) safely and per protocol
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in EPIC
• Collaborate with patient care techs, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Monitor and interpret continuous EEG findings and escalate concerns as needed
• Support rapid problem solving and critical thinking in a fast-paced acute care environment

Qualifications

• Current RN license (eligible to practice in the state of Nebraska)
• BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care or telemetry/stepdown experience preferred
• Proven experience with IV drip titration and cardiac monitoring
• Comfortable with 12-hour shifts and rotating schedules
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Driver's license required at time of submittal and must reside within the 50-mile radius rule
• Candidates may not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with facilities affiliated with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry and cardiac care knowledge, including arrhythmia recognition
• Skilled in medication administration and safe drip titration
• Proficient with EPIC electronic charting systems
• Excellent critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills
• Clear, compassionate communication with patients, families, and team members
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
