Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care and assistance with activities of daily living
• Assist with bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting while preserving patient dignity
• Monitor, record, and report changes in patient condition accurately and promptly
• Support safe patient transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics
• Communicate clearly with nurses, school staff, and family members to coordinate care
• Maintain a clean, safe, and infection-controlled environment at all times
• Participate in trainings and follow facility policies and procedures to improve care

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in the state of California
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening as required by facility
• Comfort working with children and adolescents (experience in school health or pediatrics is a plus)
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
• Ability to pass background checks and meet onboarding requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an approved CNA training program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on patient care skills including ADLs and basic vital signs
• Safe lifting and transfer techniques
• Accurate charting and documentation practices
• Familiarity with infection control and standard precautions
• Ability to remain calm and decisive in busy or changing environments
• Teamwork and clear communication with clinical and school staff
