Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-focused direct care during overnight shifts
- Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Monitor patient status and report changes to nursing staff promptly
- Follow care plans and safety protocols to ensure a secure environment
- Document care activities accurately and communicate handoffs at shift change
- Support the interdisciplinary team to promote comfort and positive outcomes
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (required)
- Active/state-appropriate CNA license or registration (California compliance preferred)
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings/immunizations
- Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfort working overnight shifts and communicating clearly with the team
- Professional, patient-centered attitude with reliable attendance
Education
- High school diploma or GED (typical)
- Completed state-approved CNA training program and certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient care and bedside skills for medical-surgical and general care
- Good observational skills to notice patient changes and escalate appropriately
- Clear documentation and handoff communication
- Time management and ability to prioritize during busy overnight periods
- Team-oriented approach and willingness to support colleagues
