Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to oncology and post-surgical patients
• Assess patient status, monitor changes, and escalate concerns to the care team
• Administer medications and therapies safely and accurately, following hospital protocols
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care and discharge planning
• Document patient care thoroughly in the Cerner EMR to ensure continuity and safety
• Support patient and family education with clear, empathetic communication

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• Chemo certification preferred but not required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (experience in oncology or med-surg highly regarded)
• Familiarity with Cerner or other EMR systems
• Team-player attitude and willingness to learn unit-specific practices

Knowledge & Skills

• Oncology nursing fundamentals and patient-centered care
• IV therapy and medication administration best practices
• Clinical assessment, documentation, and clinical escalation
• Experience with Cerner EMR
• Ability to manage patient ratios around 1:4 or 1:5
• Strong teamwork, communication, and prioritization skills
