Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in the emergency department
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to patients of all ages
- Initiate and manage emergency interventions, staying calm under pressure
- Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to ensure coordinated care
- Document patient status and interventions clearly and timely
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and next steps
- Advocate for patient safety and continuous improvement in ED workflows
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Hawaii or eligible for licensure
- Emergency Department clinical experience preferred
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Triage assessment and emergency nursing best practices
- Cardiac monitoring, IV insertion, medication administration
- Rapid assessment and stabilization of acute and critical conditions
- Electronic medical record documentation and clinical reporting
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and make sound clinical decisions
