Medical Assistant - Ambulatory
Location: Spokane, WA

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Candidate Pay Rate: $29 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Greet and prepare patients for their visit with warmth and professionalism
- Take and record vital signs accurately to support clinical decisions
- Assist providers during exams and procedures in the ambulatory setting
- Document patient encounters in the electronic health record thoroughly and timely
- Collect and label specimens per protocol when applicable
- Maintain exam rooms and supplies so the clinic runs smoothly
- Support infection control and patient safety practices every day
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant certificate or diploma preferred
- Clinical experience in an ambulatory or outpatient setting preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Strong patient-facing skills and the ability to communicate clearly
- Eligible to pass background check, TB screening, and any required pre-employment checks
Education
- High school diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant certificate/diploma preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable taking vitals, rooming patients, and assisting with basic clinical tasks
- Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of infection control and patient privacy (HIPAA) principles
- Friendly, patient-focused communication and teamwork
