Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality cardiac critical care for SICU patients, including post open heart postoperative care
• Monitor and manage hemodynamics and advanced devices such as Impella
• Perform and manage procedures on unit including intubations and CRRT
• Respond as a core member of the rapid response and code blue teams
• Document care accurately and efficiently using Meditech
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes and family education
• Maintain patient experience standards by explaining care and responding to needs promptly

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible to work in Tennessee or via compact licensure)
• Minimum 2 years of critical care/Cardiac ICU experience
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• CCRN strongly preferred
• Experience with post open heart postop care (able to manage 1-2 day postop patients)
• Familiarity with Impella, hemodynamic monitoring, and CRRT preferred
• Comfortable responding to rapid responses and code blues and floating to other units

Education

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required
• BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong cardiac critical care knowledge and ICU assessment skills
• Proficient with Meditech documentation system
• Skilled in hemodynamic monitoring and titration of vasoactive drips
• Experience with mechanical circulatory support such as Impella
• Competence in airway management and intubation care
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot CRRT
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient education skills
