Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care for Progressive Care Unit patients
• Perform timely patient assessments and implement individualized care plans
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and other patient monitoring data to ensure safety
• Administer medications and IV therapies accurately and document appropriately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments and discharge planning
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns as needed
• Contribute to unit workflow, safety initiatives and quality improvement efforts

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid for practice in North Carolina (travel RNs must obtain state licensure)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (PCU/Progressive Care, med-surg or similar acute care experience preferred)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; advanced certifications (ACLS) preferred where applicable
• Demonstrated competency with telemetry monitoring and progressive care patient management
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively on a fast-paced unit

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid clinical assessment and critical thinking skills for progressive care patients
• Familiarity with telemetry interpretation and monitoring equipment
• Proficiency with medication administration, IV therapy and common acute-care procedures
• Comfortable using electronic health record systems for charting and documentation
• Excellent teamwork, patient advocacy and time management abilities
