Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care for ICU patients, including ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Deliver post-CABG and advanced cardiac care alongside the CVICU team
• Manage complex, high-acuity patients (ECMO, heart transplant, CABG) with confidence and attention to detail
• Perform thorough bedside shift reports and maintain whiteboard updates to keep care coordinated
• Document patient care accurately in Meditech and communicate clearly with multidisciplinary teams
• Support unit flow by adapting to floating assignments when needed and helping maintain unit standards

Qualifications

• Active Texas RN license required (temporary licenses will NOT be accepted)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum ICU experience: posting references 1 year in header and 2+ years as a requested skill — candidate should meet the higher specialty expectation (2+ years ICU experience preferred)
• Experience with ventilated patients, hemodynamic monitoring, and post-CABG care
• CVICU experience, ECMO exposure, or cardiac surgery experience strongly preferred
• Professional bedside manner and commitment to bedside shift reporting

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing and ICU workflows
• Mechanical ventilation and ventilator management
• Hemodynamic monitoring and cardiac critical care principles
• Post-operative cardiac care (post-CABG, cardiac surgery) and CVICU practices
• Meditech documentation system experience (preferred)
• Basic and advanced cardiac life support (BLS, ACLS) and CPR proficiency
• Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment
