Roles & Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care under the clinical supervision of a Physical Therapist, delivering therapeutic procedures to restore function and mobility
Use therapeutic modalities and assistive devices to improve range of motion, muscle strength, coordination, and body alignment
Implement individualized treatment plans that relieve pain and enhance movement and everyday function
Document patient progress accurately and communicate changes to the supervising Physical Therapist to ensure safe, effective care
Follow the State Practice Act and facility policies to maintain a safe, compliant practice environment

Qualifications

Valid California license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant (LPTA) — required
Graduated from an approved Physical Therapy Assistant program
Comfortable providing hands-on therapeutic care and operating common assistive devices and modalities
Able to work collaboratively with a supervising Physical Therapist and healthcare team
Commitment to following the California State Practice Act and facility protocols

Education

Graduated from an approved Physical Therapy Assistant Program

Knowledge & Skills

Therapeutic procedures and modalities
Use of assistive devices to promote mobility and safety
Assessment and improvement of range of motion and muscle strength
Pain management techniques and mobility restoration
Understanding and application of the State Practice Act in clinical care
