Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of treatment procedures
- Prepare and organize instruments, materials, and equipment
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays)
- Provide patients with post-operative instructions and oral care education
- Maintain a clean and sterile environment in treatment areas
- Manage inventory and order dental supplies as needed
Qualifications
- Valid Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification in Indiana
- Radiology certification (Indiana)
- Experience in general or specialty dentistry preferred
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
Education
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program
- High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of dental instruments, equipment, and sterilization protocols
- Proficiency in taking and processing dental X-rays
- Ability to perform coronal polishing and sealant application (if applicable)
- Familiarity with dental software and patient management systems
