Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on clinical support to nursing staff for complex patient care and medication administration
• Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate orientation, staff updates, and continuing education activities
• Serve as a clinical practice resource and mentor, coaching staff to enhance clinical skills and confidence
• Act as a liaison between bedside staff and leadership, communicating concerns and driving improvements
• Analyze patient care data to identify practice gaps and implement targeted interventions
• Facilitate adoption of evidence-based practices, new protocols, and equipment with staff training
• Perform quality control audits and report findings to ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license for the state of Alaska
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association
• Clinical Competency Assessment - SEARHC and High Risk Competency - SEARHC preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of acute care RN experience preferred
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills

Education

• Nursing degree required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical practice standards and safe medication administration
• Comprehensive patient assessment and acute care management
• Electronic health records and Microsoft Office proficiency
• Teaching methods, coaching, and clinical education best practices
• Quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and regulatory compliance
• Interdisciplinary collaboration and patient/family advocacy
