Roles & Responsibilities

• Assemble case carts according to preference cards to ensure every surgery has the right instruments and supplies
• Collaborate with OR and sterile processing staff to coordinate instrumentation for both scheduled and emergency cases
• Review daily schedules with the charge nurse and sterile processing coordinator to identify potential delays and improve turnover
• Manage the core phone and communications, delegating tasks and coordinating breaks and lunches
• Serve as a resource for SPD and Surgical Services to procure necessary items for all surgical procedures
• Liaise with materials management to optimize supply utilization and deployment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent military program
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential
• Preferred: 1 year of surgical technologist experience in an acute care operating room

Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program
