Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care and assistance with activities of daily living
• Monitor and record vital signs and patient status accurately and promptly
• Assist nursing staff with treatments and follow documented care plans
• Maintain clear, timely documentation and communicate changes to the care team
• Adhere to facility safety, security and infection control protocols in a correctional healthcare setting
• Support a respectful, collaborative environment for patients and coworkers

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification (required)
• Completion of a state-approved CNA program; 2-week training provided as noted
• Comfort working the assigned night schedule (10:00 PM - 6:30 AM) and the listed days
• Ability to pass required facility checks, screenings, and trainings
• Preferred: prior experience in correctional healthcare or medical-surgical settings

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of state-approved CNA program and active CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong skills in patient hygiene, transfers, and mobility assistance
• Competence in measuring and documenting vital signs and basic clinical observations
• Understanding of infection control practices and universal precautions
• Clear, professional communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to follow protocols in a secure/correctional environment and de-escalate when needed
