Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care for Progressive Care/Telemetry patients on a 20-bed unit
• Monitor telemetry continuously and promptly recognize and respond to cardiac or rhythm changes
• Perform thorough assessments, intervene appropriately, and escalate concerns to the care team
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Cerner to ensure continuity and safety
• Collaborate with physicians, RNs, CNAs, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Support quick turnover and flow by prioritizing timely interventions and discharge preparation
• Float to other units when needed and adapt quickly to diverse patient populations
• Maintain required certifications (BLS, ACLS) and demonstrate competency in telemetry practices

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (or eligibility) — current and in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience; progressive care/telemetry experience strongly preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Demonstrated telemetry competency and comfort managing step-down level patients
• Experience with Cerner or similar EMR for documentation and order management
• Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a team-first approach

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of cardiac rhythms
• Progressive care/step-down nursing practices and patient assessment
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic medical records
• Ability to work in a fast-paced unit with quick turnover
• Clinical judgment, prioritization, and time management
• Effective interdisciplinary communication and teamwork
• Patient safety, infection control, and documentation best practices
